INDIVIDUAL LIFE EXPRESSIONS
In our January Monthly Inspiration,
we looked at setting goals to fit our individual life path. Honoring our
own unique path is the only way we will ever feel truly satisfied and
when we feel so fulfilled, our life becomes a beautiful reflection of
truth.
Have you ever considered the impact your
individual expression has on the world? The idea that our individuality
affects the world may seem hard to comprehend at first, but the way you
think and the way you live influences not only your own life, but others
as well. Every person makes a difference in the world.
A friend recently shared a philosophical
viewpoint she had read about George Washington. She said that when Washington
was asked what should be done with the British soldiers captured during
the Revolutionary War, he said they should be treated with respect, dignity
and honor, even though the American prisoners had not received the same
treatment. He did not condone the British behavior, but rather than seek
retaliation, he chose to come from a higher perspective and demonstrate
a different way to handle a challenging situation.
We always have a choice in our reaction
to life, to express our own individuality, no matter what the circumstances.
When we treat others with respect, dignity and honor, we are coming from
the soul's perspective for only the soul is able to rise above the subconscious'
emotional viewpoint and see the spiritual essence that exists in each
person. While it is normal for our subconscious not to get along with
everyone or to like every person, the soul is able to offer Divine Love
to each individual regardless of their behavior, knowing that all people
are deserving of Unconditional Love.
Treating others with respect, dignity and
honor are beautiful ideals that will help you express your spiritual essence
on a more consistent basis. Take a few moments to think about how you
treat your friends. How do you treat your family and your co-workers?
How do you treat yourself? You are just as deserving to be treated with
respect, dignity and honor as everyone else. But sometimes we have become
too critical, too demanding of ourselves as well as others. It's time
to stop this damaging behavior.
Sometimes we don't realize we're being overbearing.
We think we're being helpful. We see a friend having difficulties in life
and think we can solve their problems according to our own point of view.
If our friend asks us for advice, by all means share your ideas. But stay
as conscious as you can and from the soul's point of view share your observations
on how the situation may be resolved, rather than taking sides from the
subconscious' emotional viewpoint and negatively picking apart the circumstance
or people involved. Adding negativity to an already negative situation
only creates a bigger drama without resolving the issue. Instead, after
sharing our ideas from a more objective viewpoint, we must back off and
allow our friend to think about what we've suggested, keeping in mind
it is their choice whether they follow our ideas or do something different.
All too often we rush in, with good intentions, and seek to fix their
problem. But we must remember each person has their own life plan to follow,
their own circumstances from which they will learn and it is not our place
to fix their life. We may not be around to fix every problem for them
in the future, and resolving life's challenges helps them to grow in their
own confidence and increases their consciousness by thinking about different
resolutions.
Being more objective from the soul's perspective
rather than emotionally caught up in the problem due to our subconscious'
reaction is not uncaring. It actually allows us to be even more compassionate
as we help to empower our friend. Our subconscious will still be emotionally
involved, but we can send thoughts of love and support rather than worry
and anxiety. A calm, peaceful presence extended from the soul will encourage
peace in our own subconscious as well as in our friend, just as a Mother's
calming presence soothes a crying infant. We need to realize that whatever
we focus on, negative or positive, we lend our energy to and feed the
situation. We want to extend our energy in a loving, compassionate manner
rather than as a negative, controlling force.
Finally, are you able to celebrate your
own individual expression and follow your own life path? Sometimes we've
forgotten the importance of our unique expression and have fallen into
following society's "to-do" list to achieve success. Although society
may say to be successful, we must have the degree, the relationship, the
house, the car, the child, etc., all by a certain age, will this life
plan really contribute to our individual expression and make us feel fulfilled?
There are as many different life plans as there are people. Think for
yourself. Decide for yourself what would truly add to your quality of
life and then pursue those goals. And once you've achieved a goal, take
the time to savor the accomplishment. All too often people rush from one
goal to the next, checking off their list without stopping to enjoy the
fruits of their efforts. When we're always busy with the next thing, we'll
never feel satisfied. We must stop and savor the moment or as the old
saying goes, "Stop and smell the roses." Stop and savor your life before
you miss it. You deserve the best in life and the freedom to enjoy it
as well.
So allow yourself to be unique! Your individual
expression adds to all of life on the planet, personally and spiritually,
in your own personal life and in the lives of all those you touch. For
when we allow our individuality and spiritual essence to express, we contribute
to the greater Glory of God.
Make time to join us for an upcoming Arche
program and allow us to help you gain the freedom to follow your own life
plan and express the best version of you.
Wishing you the bliss of your individual
expression!
