MANAGE STRESS FROM YOUR SOUL’S PERSPECTIVE

At a time when people are experiencing more pressure than ever on a personal, nationwide and even global level, it’s important that we learn how to manage the stress in our lives.  Stress cannot be ignored although we often do just that.  Since the soul thinks in concepts, we’re often on to the next thought and the next, unaware that our subconscious, who carries out all our ideas, can’t keep up.  It’s like watching a parent who’s walking quickly, completely unaware that their child is three steps behind, running to stay with them.  But the subconscious, our inner child, often feels overwhelmed by our demands.  It reacts to stress from an emotional level and the affects may be devastating including fear and anxiety, a feeling of helplessness or despair, until it may become almost paralyzed by the situation and eventually make us sick.  Because it thinks like a child does, it doesn’t know what to do, and simply keeps hoping it will all go away.  It doesn’t.  We need to do something to help our subconscious get through these stressful issues.

The first step is for the soul to get conscious and become aware of exactly what’s causing the stress.  Our subconscious experiences stress when it feels overloaded in some way, either physically or emotionally, and therefore feels out of control.  When we feel physically overloaded it may mean that we’re simply doing way too much and our subconscious can’t keep up with such a demanding schedule.  Running ourselves from early morning to late at night may get a lot done, but at what cost?  What happened to our quality of life?  Don’t we deserve to have a well-balanced enjoyable life as well as a responsible “work-life?”  When we’ve exhausted ourselves at work and then squeeze in a social outing as well, we may pat ourselves on the back for fitting it all in, but we’ve taken the enjoyment out of a fun activity.  It will take our soul’s conscious thought to change our pace into something more reasonable by downsizing our activities.  We need to schedule ourselves more wisely and then stick to our new plan.

An emotional overload can be even more stressful since we’re dealing with relationship issues.  Effective communication is always most important in these situations.  But we must communicate from the soul’s conscious point of view, making suggestions on how an issue may be resolved, rather than from the subconscious emotional viewpoint, which usually ends up in an argument.  Again this will take our careful, conscious thought to come up with a solution.

The way we think about a situation can make a big difference as well.  For example, worrying about a problem never does anything to change it.  Many times we get caught up in the “what if” syndrome, creating dramas that don’t even exist.  Endlessly replaying “What if this happens?” or “What if that happens?” over and over in your mind is exhausting, wasting endless emotional energy that could be used constructively to make a plan instead of in this destructive manner.  I’ve heard people worrying about what might happen in the future in their work environment when nothing has actually happened yet.  They worry at work, and then take their concerns home with them and worry some more.  This constant turmoil is extremely stressful for the subconscious.  If worrying has become a habit, it’s time to stop it.  From a conscious point of view think about what could be done about the situation if it occurs and then instruct your subconscious to let it go.  You’ll deal with it, if and when it actually happens.

We can be our own best friend or our worst enemy, depending on how we’re thinking.  Sometimes people torture themselves, thinking the worst is going to happen, or they won’t be able to handle it, or even spiral into extreme self-doubt, thinking they’re not good at anything.  This is inaccurate.  We are all good at something.  This way of thinking indicates a very fearful subconscious who needs our help.  We must get conscious and think the situation all the way through.  We need to make a plan on how we will handle even a serious situation or ask for help to find a solution if we’re unable to figure it out on our own.  The subconscious will feel much better simply knowing it’s going to get help either from the soul or from an outside source.  Then we need to refocus our mental and emotional energy on what is working in our life and compliment ourselves for those accomplishments.  Redirecting your subconscious to the positive aspects of your life will help it to let go of the stress.  This is why gratitude journals work.  Writing down the blessings in your life that you’re grateful for helps the subconscious to appreciate what it has already accomplished and encourages it to attract even more positive opportunities.

During a stressful time, it’s important that we make time to do something enjoyable, something totally removed from the stressful issue.  This may take some discipline on the soul’s part since the subconscious often doesn’t want to do anything when under stress.  But make yourself do something.  Anything you enjoy.  Listen to music, go to a movie, take a walk, sit in nature, watch a sports game, read a book, visit a friend.  Doing something enjoyable reminds us that life can still be good, even during a stressful period.

Finally, events taking place on the planet can cause stress for our subconscious.  Whether we’re looking at political unrest in other countries or simply observing our planet’s turbulent weather, there are situations that we have no control over.  In these instances, when there’s nothing we can do to change the situation, we need to remember to enjoy the Now.  Don’t live in fear.  Live in the moment.  It’s actually the only time that ever exists anyway.  Again this will take our conscious awareness to remind our subconscious about the good things happening every day, but it is worth our time and effort to improve our quality of life.

So make a commitment to yourself to do something about the stress in your life.  Join us for an upcoming program to help you put these ideas into practice.  You’ll learn simple techniques and information that can be life changing, providing a better life than ever before.

Wishing you the best quality of life!
